A concrete example
Starter costs $20 USD/month and includes 10,000 API email recipients. Sending one message to three recipients uses three of that allowance, leaving 9,997 if you have made no other sends that month.
That subscription includes 0 AI drafts. AI drafting requires an allowance separately enabled by our team. Once a draft attempt is reserved, it counts against your AI allowance even if the model call fails. Failures before reservation do not consume that allowance.
How usage works
- What counts as an email?
- Each recipient accepted through the send API counts once. A message to three recipients uses three units. Pending or uncertain sends reserve allowance. Retrying the same message within the same workspace with the same idempotency key does not count again. Unresolved sends have a 23-hour retry window from the original request. After that, check delivery before creating a new send.
- When does the allowance reset?
- Email usage is grouped by calendar month, separately from your subscription’s billing date. AI drafting usage uses calendar months in UTC. Unused allowance does not roll over.
- What happens at the limit?
- The API returns a limit error. There are no automatic overage charges. Check Usage & billing before retrying.
- Does Starter include AI drafting?
- No. AI draft attempts require a separately allocated allowance. New workspaces start with no AI drafting allowance. Request an allowance through Support. There are no automatic AI overage charges. Governed-agent replies are tracked separately from API email usage.
- Can I cancel?
- Open Usage & billing → Manage billing. Stripe shows the effective cancellation date. Your allowance follows the subscription’s current status; an inactive or unpaid subscription returns to the developer allowance once its status change is successfully processed. Updates can be delayed if billing-event processing fails.
- Is delivery guaranteed?
- This is a developer preview with no uptime or delivery-time guarantee. Acceptance by the provider does not guarantee inbox placement.
